Glazed Parsnips

4 to 6 parsnips
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
2 or 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

If some of the parsnips are large, slice them lengthwise (do not peel). Microwave parsnips for 5 minutes.

Melt butter or margarine in an oven-safe pan, Put parsnips into pan, making sure that there is butter or margarine on both sides. Sprinkle with sugar. Put under broiler until sugar starts to caramelize (about 2 or 3 minutes).
