Source: Ann Marie's cookbook; she cooked at the White House many years ago.
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 cup cubed red bell pepper
Mix all ingredients but red pepper in saucepan. Stirring, bring to a boil. Simmer, stirring now and then, 15 minutes. Add pepper, cook a minute or two. Add cooked chicken or meat - whatever you want to add - and reheat.
