Buttermilk Gelatin

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 large box strawberry gelatin
2 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping

In a medium saucepan, heat the pineapple and gelatin over medium heat until the gelatin dissolves.

Remove from the heat and cool 15 minutes.

Stir in the buttermilk. Chill the mixture until thickened but not completely set, at least 1 hour.

Fold in the whipped topping and blend until combined. Chill until set.
