Cream Cheese Cookies

3 ounces softened cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

Combine all ingredients except flour and mix until blended. Then add flour and stir until dough forms a ball. Knead 1-2 minutes adding more flour until smooth and pliable, not sticky. Chill.

Then roll out on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Place on cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree F oven until edges are lightly browned, 5-15 minutes, depending on the size of the cookies. When cooled, frost with colored frostings.

Makes 2-3 dozen.
