1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup M&M's Mini Baking Bits, divided
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 9-inch square baking pan; set aside.

In large bowl cream and brown sugar until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla.

In medium bowl combine flour and baking soda; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in 2/3 cup M&M's Mini Baking Bits; set aside.

Dough will be stiff. In separate bowl beat together cream cheese, granulated sugar and egg yolk until smooth; stir in cocoa powder until well blended. Place chocolate-cheese mixture in six equal portions evenly onto bottom of prepared pan. Place reserved dough around cheese mixture and swirl slightly with tines of fork. Pat down evenly on top. Sprinkle with remaining 1/3 cup M&M's. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator in tightly covered container.
