Chocolate Chip Dream Bars

Source: Jan Taylor

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (6 ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1 3/4 cups milk chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

In medium bowl, mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, and the butter. Stir in 1 cup flour. Press in ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix eggs, 1 cup brown sugar and the vanilla. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour, the baking powder and salt. Stir in semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of the milk chocolate chips. Spread over hot crust.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack, about 30 minutes.

In 1-quart saucepan, heat remaining 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips and the oil over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted; drizzle glaze over bars. Refrigerate at least 1 hour until firm. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 4 rows. Store in room temperature.

Makes 32 bars.
