Butter Thumbprint CookiesSource: Jan Taylor 1 cup butter, softened Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter with sugar and salt; add flour, egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Wrap well and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight. Roll into1-inch balls; re-roll in pecans, if desired. Press thumb into center of each ball. Bake until lightly browned around the edges 12-15 minutes. Fill centers with jelly. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen cookies. ENJOY! |
