Barbecue Bean Soup

1 pound great northern beans
1 medium onion
2 pounds lean beef short ribs
2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
6 cups water
3/4 cup barbecue sauce

Soak beans; add all ingredients, except barbecue sauce, in a crockpot. Cover and cook on LOW for 10 to 16 hours, until done.

Remove meat when done and cut in small pieces. Return to crockpot. Stir in barbecue sauce before serving.
